The CHIO Aachen needs no introduction among equestrian enthusiasts. Considered the top competition in Europe, this event is a true celebration of the sport and equestrian tradition of the Old Continent. For many — riders, fans, and experts alike — possibly the best in the world.

A one-of-a-kind event

CHIO Aachen is the only event in the world where Nations Cups are held simultaneously in all five represented FEI disciplines: Dressage, Show Jumping, Eventing, Driving, and Vaulting. This is complemented by its outstanding organization, festive atmosphere, and a diverse audience that experiences the competition week as a major international event.

In the 2025 edition, Spain will be the official host country, adding a special flair for Spanish fans. This means that the cultural program and many of the exhibitions will revolve around Spanish equestrian culture, bringing a unique and vibrant touch to the event.

Top-tier facilities

The event takes place at the impressive Sportpark Soers, a large equestrian complex. The Show Jumping stadium, with a capacity of 40,000 spectators, is one of the most iconic facilities on the international circuit.

Beyond the sport, the venue also offers areas for exhibitors, gastronomy, performances, and commercial stands with all kinds of equestrian products.

Year after year, Aachen not only attracts the top-ranked riders, but also becomes the stage where new stars emerge. Its prestige is such that winning in Aachen goes beyond ranking points or prize money — it’s a sporting consecration.

The CHIO Aachen 2025 schedule is packed with top-level events, taking place from June 27 to July 6. Here are some of the highlights:

Official Opening Ceremony – Tuesday, July 1: A spectacular show that marks the official start of the competition.

Rolex Grand Prix – Show Jumping Grand Prix of Aachen, Sunday, July 6. Last year’s winner was André Thieme (GER) with DSP Chakaria. That same day, the Lindt-Prize – Grand Prix Freestyle in Dressage will also take place, won last edition by Isabell Werth (GER) with Wendy de Fontaine.

Beyond the sport, Aachen is an experience not to be missed. The opening and closing ceremonies, cultural performances, opportunities for the public to interact with horses and riders, and the vibrant atmosphere make it a must-attend event — even for those who are not equestrian fans.

If you’ve ever wondered what makes a competition truly special, just one visit to Aachen is enough to find the answer.
